About a year ago a young reader asked me if I thought she should contact her father.  See how I responded in a new video segment, Dear Father Swap.

  1. Kia, I’m your neighbor at Five Minute Friday today. I’m so impressed with what you’re doing here- what a gift this is to people (especially women) who don’t have their fathers. My dad died when I was 5, and I’ve thought a lot about how not having a father as a child has shaped my view of God. I’m 37 now, and I still struggle with it.

    1. Wow Abbey, Your vulnerability is beautiful. I am sorry for the loss you experienced at such and early age. I know the pain you experience is similar to those who are fatherless in other ways but not the same and unique to you. Please know that I count it a priviledge to take the burdens of the women who confide in me to God in prayer. I will do the same for you. I truly believe God’s word when he says in Psalms 68: 5 “A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling.” I pray He would truly make this a reality in your life. I pray that you would know abundance in this area and not lack. Please know that you are dearly loved and thanks so much for joining the conversation. Be blessed! – Kia
